Meet the Instructors
James W. Corbin
The lead instructor for all School Resource Officer Training offered by Corbin & Associates, Inc. He retired from the Orlando, Florida Police Department, in June 1994. Jim worked for fifteen of his twenty years as a School Resource Officer with four years spent at Memorial Jr. High School (grades 7 - 9) and eleven years at William R. Boone High School (grades 9 - 12). He holds both a bachelors and masters degree in criminal justice, from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida and a doctorate in Education Administration from Madison University, Gulfport, Mississippi. Prior to working for Corbin & Associates, Inc., he worked as a contract consultant and trainer for several companies to help implement School Resource Officer Programs nationally. He has published and copy written four training manuals specifically related to school safety, security and school based law enforcement.
Lt Charles Lowery
Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, former School Resource Officer and commander of the SRO unit at the Hamilton County SO.
Craig Mansanares
School Resource Officer, Longmont Police Department, Longmont, Colorado, Past President of the Colorado Association of School Resource Officers.
Tony Sanchez
Former School Resource Officer Ft Collins Police Department, Ft Collins, Colorado, Past President of the Colorado Association of School Resource Officers and CASRO's SRO of the Year recipient.
Richard Davies
Former SRO in Pine Bluff, Arkansas also commander of the SRO unit for the Pine Bluff Police Department. He has over 2,000 hours of police related training. Much of his training revolves around school violence, drugs and gangs. As a School Resource Officer for eight years, he is a firm believer in the power of intervention and prevention and he is fiercely dedicated to giving young people the skills needed to make better choices in life.
He also believes in helping the parents learn more about what goes on in their child’s world, thereby opening up new a understanding of the issues they both face. He trains police officers all over the country to work in the schools as School Resource Officers.
Dave Lang
Dave was employed with the Livermore Police Department in California for 25 years. During his time there he worked as a School Resource Officer for twelve years at the High School, Middle School and Continuation Schools. Dave was a part of the committee that developed the SRO standardized training Program for California P.O.S.T.
Since his retirement Dave has continued to stay active in the schools now as a full time teacher, instructing both Criminal Justice and CSI courses at the local High Schools. Dave possesses a Single Subject Credential for Career Technical Education from the State of California.
